New Addition to OC Studio allows DAWs to control fader automation on classic analog console
Orange County’s Hybrid Studios has added the Tangerine from THD Labsto be used with the SSL 4064 G+ console in Studio A. The Tangerine is an SSL automation interface, designed to replace the original SSL computer and allow for greater flexibility using DAWs to control fader automation. The interface features a 2U rack-mount unit with integrated software.
“The Tangerine’s interface uses common digital communication protocols (midi, USB and ethernet) and the latest automation advancements in popular DAW software,” says THD’s website, “This allows for a choice of computer platforms and a minimized learning curve, while providing an integrated production environment in which source, mix, and recall data can be kept combined.”
The integration of this exciting new technology will be a treat for fans of the classic SSL console and the talented audio production clients who call Hybrid their home in Southern California.
